NEW NORTH CLUNES.
Mr .E. Lowe, formerly manager of Dixon's and other companies in the same locality, having been appointed manager of this promising company, took charge yesterday. I am credibly informed that within the next 20 feet of driving the old Alburnia No. 2 reef may be expected to be to hand. It may not be generally known that the promoters pu/chased the., ground from the Bank of New Zealand for £300. / TOOKEY TRIBUTE. A small parcel from the 100 feet level is being crushed at the Prince Alfred miJl. There is not much of a show on the plates, but as the stuff is heavily mineraUstd that can hardly be expected. :. WAIOTAHI ASSOCIATION. A cleaning up and retorting for the Waiotahi Association took place to-day after a month's crushing at the battery, during which time 140 tons of quartz obtained from No*. 4 and 5 lodes were crushed and the result is the satisfactory return of 2220zs 16dwts of melted gold.
CALEDONIAN. A ciushing for this mine at the Prince Alfred is shaping for ha'f-an-oance or thereabouts. '" ' . .
