This day.
At the Police Court this morning a woman named Hexken, summoned for fortune telling, was dismissed with a caution. O'Brien, a cabman, was, charged by Isaacs of the theatre with charging an extortionate fare of 10w. Mr Russell, for the. complainant. Mr Tyler for defendant pleaded that the case did not come within the scope of the regulations. The magistrate reserved judgment.
As a fcaiu was proceeding to Onehiviga last night the cow-catcher came into collision with a stone weighing half a hundred weight, placed across the line. No damage was done. The guards got off and removed the stone. An examination of the ground showed a large hole alongside the l*ne from which the stone had been taken. It is supposed to be the act of some lrrrikin.
