I 'v: r' 2i this mine to-day. At the bottom of No. 3 winze I found that the drive has been extended west about 40 feet, and the lode, waicb. continues of good size, is showing good colors gold. The manager informs me that it is only contemplated to take out the block over he^d by means of the winze ; the remainder will be taken out as the works f om the Sons of Freedom level extend upwards. In the western ftce the lode is hard but shows gold, and the country is good. >In the other works connected with the winze there is no chinge mention. The drive en Dixon's love sjo v» s that roei' about iWea i: c V thick, and in good coin try. The quartz is hard and d-.r' 1. In ihe Sons of Freedom tunnel the Sons of Freedom reef is of large size and composed' of kindly quartz, though no gold is visible at present.
