TAURANGA.
Monday. A correspondent at Opotiki telegraphs that an unprovoked outrage and attempt to burn the whare of Mr'Beay, Government surveyor, over his head, was committed on Friday night at Ohiwa pa by Te Wharu and his brother-in-law. The matter has ' been-" reported to Captain Preece, R.M. If immediate action be not taken Keay will be compelled to cease work.
