G. W. Elliott yesterday received the following telegram :—" The barque Anne Gambles, from London to Nelson via the Bluff, is a total wreck on Te Wai'a Point (east head of the Bluff). The crew were reported safe when I left yesterday. The forward part of the ship was out of the water. A surrey has been held, and it is recommended that the vessel be sold this afternoon." On receipt of this telegram Mr Elliott telegraphed, asking that the sale should be delayed till he went South. He left for the Bluff last night with Capt.
