The Bey. R. Hazleton, M.A., will deliver a lecture at the Grahamstown Wesleyan Church this evening, on " Ireland and the Irish."

Professor L. C. Mendenhall instructor in Natural Science in the Ohio Agricultural College, is convinced that a baseball pitcher can deliver a ball on a curved horizontal line, and proposes as an explanation of the result that it is caused by a spiral motion given to the ball by which one side is made to encounter more resistance from the atmosphere than the other, and thereby deflected from motion in a right line. He expresses a que.y whether the result can be corroborated with a ball of perfectly uniform shape. Suppose they try with a billiard ball.
