TELEGRAMS.

WELLINGTON

This day.

The Port Darwin line is interrupted north of Charlotte Waters. Communication restored with Tasmania by cable yesterday evening. Considerable anxLty is felt here regarding the steamers Stormbird, Tui, and the Government steamer Stella, which left here on Saturday and Sunday. The Stella left for Taranaki on Saturday, the Stormbird for VV'angauui on Sunday, and the Tui for Foxton ou the same day. Neither appears to have reached its destination, though the St. Kilda and Manawatu have left for Wanganui since, and a vessel has arrived from Queen Charlotte's Sound, and reports having sighted no steamers taking shelter. Anxiety has naturally been aroused.

Sir John Coode left iv the Hinemoa for Napier today.
