The honor of Knighthood has been conferred on Judge Williams, of Victoria, and Thomas Elder, of Adelaide. ' In the race for one thousand guineas, to-day, Pilgrimage was first. Nine horses started.

It is authoritatively stated here that it is impossible to commence the withdrawal of Russian troops from the neighborhood of Constantinople until the Turks have evacuated Shumla, Tarna and Batoum, and the British squadron have quitted the Sea of Marmora.
