RE SIDENT MAGISTRATE 'S COURT

THIS DAY.

(Before W. Fraser^ Esq., 8.M.) NEGLECTED CHILDREN.

James and Flora Bird wood were charged with being neglected children. Mrßuilen said that the two children before the Court bore very bad characters. They wandered alone completely out of the care of their mother, whose husband was killed some years ago. Messrs Dalziel and Healy, who reside near the residence of the children, deposed to the bad characters of the children, and their utter want of control. Committed to the Industrial School, Auckland, for a period of five years, to be brought up in the Episcopalian faith. Court adjourned.
