BENDIGO UNITED.
Since the amalgamation of the Behdigo Independent and El Dorado mines, and their formation into a company under, the above name, the mine manager, Mr S. Dryden, has not been idle. The cross-cut has been extended upwards of 200 feet on the course of the Bendigo leader, which lately has pinched down to a small, stringer, in consequence of the hard country. One hundred feet back from the present face a good shot of gold was driven through, and a few tons of this stuff of considerable value was saved. Some, little distance ahead of the drive the El Dorado lode is known to traverse the claim, and it is expected that this reef will shortly be picked up, when the prospects of getting good payable gold are very good indeed, considering the auriferous nature of the country and the former richness of the lode referred to.
