DAUNTLESS.
Mcllhaney and party have taken on tribute a portion of this ground,.paying 10 per cent, for the same. During the short time they have been working there they have discovered two lodes. One of them is 18 inches thick, being composed of very nice looking stone showing a little gold. The other is a large six foot reef, which is supposed to be the Port Busseli or Moanatairi No. 9 reef. This supposition is based on the fact of the.stone and mineral in the two lodes being very similar. This lode referred to is very good looking quarts, and the tributers are crashing a trial crushing of four loads from it at Bull's battery. A parcel of 5 lodes from the 18-inch lode is also going through the stampers, and the latter parcel, at least, is going fairly. The quartz can easily be got from the claim to the battery.
