EXTENDED (TAPU.)
I am informed on very good authority that the shareholders of this claim, situated at 'JTapu Creek, have made a find which is likely to greatly improve the prosperity of ihe Hastings district, inasmuch as they have dropped across a, patch of gold, which it is expected will pay them handsomely. Yesterday the men driving on the intermediate level of the claim came on what is supposed to be the original lead worked by Mclsaacs and party, which attracted so much attention to Tapu in the eariy days. Gold is freely discernible on the quartz, which is of first-class quality, and, indeed, the manager is so well pleated with its appearance that he has ordered it all to be bagged. The general stuff is estimated to be worth fire ounces to the ton, but a crushing, which will shortly take place, will decide this. In conclusion I may mention that this block is of considerable extent. '■ "■■ • '. ■ -.■'..-■ -'v
