THB BROOMHALL SETTLEMENT.
(To the Editor of tbe Evening Star.)
Sib,—lt is satisfactory to Thames people to be informed that (aa many of us ha?e long believed) the Attorney General thinks the action of the Waste Lands Board in selling the Aroha lands to Mr BroomhaU is illegal. But the matter ought not to stop here. Let us back up the Government by taking action/ ourselves to stop all future illegality. Let the Chairman of the County Council tyjequested at once to instruct counsel to ipply for an injunction from the Supreme Court to stay all further proceedings of the Waste Lands Board in this matter. If this question be fairly brought before the Court and argued, the land will never be soldfto BroomhaU. If public subscriptiooi be necessary to pay law expenses, they can be obtained. I will give my mite most willingly.—l am, Ac;, Coiokist.
