BANKING COMBINATION.
(Totbe Editor of the Inning Star.) BiR,-r-It was in one of your issaea that i we were informed that the gold boring combination- had been broken. You might hare giren us the newa that it wai in full swing again for all this week, and not let the fire day fossickera take their gold in for sale under false expectations regarding Is per ounce more than usual. This is a peculiar field, as there are no public bullion purchasers, and banks hare it all their own way. But I cannot understand how the institution can claw all the rest up by the hair of their heads and make them agree to anything, when they are actually in a position to giro a better price than any of their, competitors, baring the clarifying process — gold to pay in London—and cheap labor. Something's wrong; try and shift it, and oblige,
