ALBURNIA.

The result of the crushing of the three* fourths of a ton of picked stuff and specimens and the produce of the remainder of the general stuff was retorted at the Herald mill to-day for the yield of 644 ounce's of gold. This, with the 4280xs already banked, is the result of the month's operations, the total being 1072 ounces gold. A dividend, not exceeding 5s per share, may thus be expected. McLean aud party hare finished their crushing of 21 tons at the Prince Alfred mill for the splendid yield of 1350zs retorted gold. In addition to the general, stuff there was some 1601 bt of picked stone. The gold wbb taken to the Bank, and after being weighed there it was Belted, and the unprecedented ciroum-

stance occurred of its not suffering the loss, of a singlo grain by the process of melting. This certainly reflects the greatest credit on the treatment of the amulgam at the Prince Alfred mill, which is worthy of more than a passing comment. The tribute section now worked by McLean and purLy is ihu same one which they have worked successfully for the past few years. Up to tho end of last year they worked on a large lode which payed well, but now this is almost wrought out. The quartz is at present being obtained from a leader iv the hanging-wall of the largo reef, and as it runs parallel with tho old workings it is easily taken out. The tributers pay 21 percent to the company who will thus benefit considerably by the good luck of the tributers.
