ALBURNIA.
There are 600 or 700 ozs of amalgam on hand from the berdans at the battery, but what is the amount from the plates cannot yet be ascertained as it is not yet cleaned. There are about 6001bs of specimens at the mine office, which will be crushed shortly, and it is the manager's intention to have an interim retorting next week. At the mine there is nothing very stirring. In the drive west from No. 1 the reef is showing good gold, but the drive is to be suspended for a short time for the purpose of putting up a rise to meet the Wo. 3 wince, which, it will be remembered, is being sunk w*st of No. 3. This wins* is now down 46 feet, so/ that there will be 16 feet to nse to connect with the level below. The stopes continue to look about the same. The drive towards the Devon having reached the boundary has been stopped. The different contract works are making good progress.
