THE TAPU ROAD.

(To the Editor of the Xrtning Star.) Sib,—l.can endorse what "Main Bfren»th and Stupidity " has said ii fail letter, so far as you have made it know*, about the Tapu rood. Then is a great deal of strongopmment on the same road by many people, and many a time hare I heard it asked why does-not some one write;to the papers about it P; The in▼ariabls answer is,.l have my livelihood to earn, and do net like to do it, so public interest is sacrificed through cowardice. Jhere has been a growing opinion thai the man that set the woik oat? for the Borough Cococit and passed it, that ho it deficient intellectually, and morally, and this confirms them in the opinion that he is not competent for hi* place. -Almost ever since the work wai passed two men have been .employed, to repair the damages done by the sea; and when bud weather comes they wil 1 need assistance, and theri they will riot krap it right. flb» County Council have adopted a wise plan in taking forward the same road, by doing/ away with as much walling as possible, and making the road generally above high water mark, so that the sea cannot reach it.
