A meeting of the Swiss Guard at the Vatican demanded three months' pay, a concession usual on tho death of a Pope. The disturbance was quelled. A colliery explosion occurred at Kilsyth, Stirling. Sixteen were killed. The Oamaru seven per cent, loan of sixty thousand pjnnds was taken above the minimum, a hundred and two and a half. - Australian securities are resuming their usual activity. Consols have risen one half per cent. The wool sales proceed satisfactorily. Prises rema;n without noticeable alteration.
