CURE.
The tunnel being put in from the Waiotahi side of the spur is making good pro* gress, and is now in some thirty or forty feet. It is about 70 feet below the brace of the Cure shaft, and only a few feet below the Caledonian brace. It has been put in chiefly to prdspect, and, if en* couraging prospects are obtained, to develop the lodes in the surface portion of the claim, which has never been touched. Considering the splendid tub got by the Manukau in tbe early days of the field, and the payable erushings obtain:d within the last few months by the Golden Crown tributers from surface leaders, the prospects of this work being crowned with success are very good. A start has been made at rising on the No. 5, and it is hoped that there will be something good to report before long. The sinking of the winze on Oilmour's leader is now completed, and the manager has started stoping. Little quartz has been broken out yet, but what has shows payable prospects. This lode is not quite a foot thick. Morrison and party hate finished a crushing of tlirce loads of stuff at Bull's battery for the yield of 12ozs ldwt 12grs gold.
