The quarterly Licensing Court for the Districts of Thames and Hauraki was held at the Court House this morning before Commissioners John Brown (chairman), William Souter and Robert Work* man. Patrick Donnelly applied for the transfer to Charles Frederick Quint of thej

license for the Bay View Hotel. Mr Brnssty for applicant. Granted. John Endean applied for the transfer of tlic license for the Nil Desperandura Hotel to John McMullen. Mr Mac-, dunald for applicant. Granted. Charles Morrow applied for the transfer to James Capel of the license for the Willoughby Hotel. Mr Macdonald appeared for Mr Ehrenfried, owner of the houso. The Police objected to the transfer being granted, on the ground that the transferee was a dumtry, and was not resident on the premises. The Commissioners, after consulting, intimated that in future they intended setting their facet against transfers to dummies, but would adjourn tho Court for a fortnight to enablo Mr Ehrenfried to get a suitable person. John McMullen applied for the transfer to John J. Bryant of the license for the Bendigo Hotel. Mr Brasaey for applicant. Granted. The Court adjourned for & fortnight.
