Rowing Club.

An adjourned meeting of gentlemen interested in forming a Bowing Club at the Thames was held at the Governor Bowcii Hotel La3t evening. There was a good attendance, and Mr Robert Comer was called to the chair. Mr J. L. Whit ford, lion, sec, read the adveitiM'mnit culling thy meeting, and also the minutes of previous meeting. The minutes wore continued and signed bj the Chairman. The Chairman said the next business would be to elect a Committee of Management, and he trusted they would appoint gentlemen who were conversant with the > business. Mr Burton proposed that the commit-' tee consist of fire gentlemen. Mr Lawless seconded. Carried. The following were selected a committee of management on a show of hands: Messrs — Buttle, W. JEL Hargreaves, John Goldsworthy, W. Burton, and T. Gavin. Mr A. D. Bennett proposed, and Mr Burton seconded, that Captain Fraser be elected President of the Club. Carried unanimously. Mr Quint proposed that Mr J. E. Macdonald be appointed Vice President. Mr Gavin seconded. Carried uanimously. Mr Bennett proposed that.Sir George Grey and Wm. Howe, Bsqs., M.sH.B., and Mr Eobert Graham be elected patrons of the Club. Mr Lawless seconded. This was carried unanimously. The Her. V. Lush was proposed for the office of Treasurer, but he declined. He said he had been present to show his sympathy with the movement. He would propose that Mr Cameroa be hon. treasurer. Mr Bennett seconded, and it was carried. Mr Gavin proposed that Captain Murray be captain of tho Club. Mr Goldsworthy Beconded. Carried. The Committee were instructed to prepare a code of pules for the Club,-to submit them to the next meeting.. Mr Burton proposed that the entrance fee to the Club be one guinea, and the annual subscription 10s 6d, the entrance fee to rover the first year's subscription. Mr Jamieson seconded the proposition. Mr Graham proposed that the entrance fee be one guinea, and the annual subscription one guinea. The Key. V. Lush suggested that the payment for the first year be one guinea. Mr Buttle proposed that a donation of £5 should entiilo the donor to life membership. Mr Goldswortby seconded. Carried. Mr Heron proposed that every member of committee not attending meetings when summoned by circular, or sending an apology, be fined five shillings. Mr Hurst seconded. Carried unanimously. After some discussion regarding the colors of the club; it was decided to leave the same to the Committee, with instructions to find out the colors of other clubs in the Colony. Mr Win. Goldsirorthy proposed and Mr Quint seconded, that the Committee be instructed to ascertain the cost of an English built four oared racing boat, and two sets of sculls, and report to next meeting. Carried. Mr Quint proposed that the next meeting of the Club be held on Wednesday, 13th March. Mr Gavin seconded, and it was carried. A vote of thanks to the Chairman concluded the business.
