CATHOLIC SCHOOL TREAT.—A CORRECTION.

(To the Editor of the Evening Star.) Sib,—ln the report of the Catholic Children's Annual Feast, in the Advertiser of this moifling, there appears a mistake which is likely to injure the characters of the teachers and all connected with the feast. In the following appeurs the error : "In the evening the teachers and some of the elder scholars continued the enjoyment in the shape of a dance, in St. Joseph's School-room, for which a liberal supply of the good things had been, reserved during the day. The festival was liberally ■übscribed to by the public through the teachers and elder scholars, about £30 having been realised in donations." __ Sir, in the first place, the dance was held in the Hibernian Hall, and not in St. Joseph's School-room j neither were any of the good things reserved for the teachers' dance, as stated by the Advertiser, which ■tatementi is not unlikely to injure the cause, as no person who has subscribed to the children's feast would like to hear of their money being used for any other than the objectefiritended. The expenses of the dance held in the Hibernian Hall last evening were defrayed by the teachers —Mr Doran, Superintendent, presenting a splendid cake at his own expense, besides contributing an equal amount to the other*expenses, which duly amounted to 13s; divided by six (the number of teachers) would be 23 2d each, which,no one would grudge. Again, £30 described as donations is wrong, the amount being £21 6s 9d, for which amount the teachers and children beg to thank the subscriber*^ Imay state thatinstead of the teachers taking anything away that the children were entitled to, they acted on the contrary, by cutting up and giving to the children a large cake presented to the teachers and bandsmen by Mrs Coolahan. If the Editor of the Advertiser would employ competent reporters, and get his information from a more reliable source, lie might retrieve his position as regards truth.—l am, &c, Edwabd Letdon, One of the Teachers. Shortknd, February 21st.
