RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT
THIS DAY. (Befofe W. Fraser, Esq., E.M.) DRUNKENNESS.
Amm and a woman were charged with drunkenness in Pollen street, G/aharnstown, last evening. The female defendant said that she had had a tew glasses but she bad fainted in a gutter. Const. Haslett deposed that he had seen the female de» fendant in Pollen street las J ercning. She was drunk. They were both fined 10s and costs, or 24 hours' imprisonment. HI DECENT BEHAVIOUR. The same defendants were charged with indecont behaviour in a public place, to wit Pollen street, Shortland, last evening. Sergeant O'Connor asked for a remand for three days, as Mr Bullen was absent. Eemanded for three days. BBEACH OF THE SLAUGHTER-HOUSE ACT. William Dalziel and W. H. Oldrey were charged under the Slaughter-house Act, 1877, with neglecting to send to the Inspector of Slaughter-houses a statement weekly of the animals killed at the slaughterhouses of which* they are the licensees. '' The defendants pleaded guilty, and were each mulcted in the penalty of Is and costs. Court adjourned.
