ohxnemtox. (FBOX OUB OWN COBBESPONDENT.) Paeboa, Thursday 1.30 p.m. The Biroriro liau just returned with the County Chairman, Councillors, and others. The meeting with the Aroha natives has resulted in an agreement to make the road, old l'utuki being about the only dissentient. I hear that a Mr Crawford is up at Te Aroha arranging for the purchase of a portion of the Broomhall Settlement block. The laxity of the Government, of course, gives encouragement to speculators, who by their action complicate matters and thus retard settlement. The Pieko has arrived, and the Buona Ventura has just started for the Thames. The weather is very bad, and I expect that Messrs Murray, Fryer and party, who started on their walking tour yesterday, have had enything but a pleasant time.
