James Mounce was charged with neglecting to keep a light on his carriage after sunset, on the 7th inst.

The defendant pleaded guilty, but said that the spring of the lamp had broken while at Mary street, and he fixed it up at Shortland.

The charging constable said that the defendant was fixing the lamp at Short* land^when he spoke to him. His Worship dismissed (he case. . . WANDBUIHG AXIXALS.

Frederick Soater was charged with unlawfully allowing one horse to wander in Boweri street, Parawai. Defendant pleaded guilty, and was fined 2s 6d, and costs.

James Garvey and William Bead were charged with permitting goats to wander at large. The defendants pleaded guilty, and were fined Is each, and costs.

A TOUJTO VAGBANT. Joseph Weston, a ltd aged 14, was charged with being without means of sapport, nor haring a settled place of abode. Mr Sullen said that the lad, before the court, had been turned out by his mother to get a Hying the best way he could, and the lad had rome to him asking to be sent to the Training School. If His Worship would remand the case till Monday, he would ascertain if there was room for his admission to the school. .

Remanded accordingly. Court adjourned.
