His Worship the Mayor at hit interview with Ministers on 29th ultimo; brought under their notice the following sub-

jects :— . I .1. The expediency of resting the Powder Magazine, Wharf, and Tramway in. the Borough Council.— Ministers .explained that there would be no difficulty in arranging that matter. 4. In respect to the Grahamstown and Tararu Tramway, Ministers explained that recourse must be had to legal opinion. . . > 5. As regards the streams necessary for the wants of the Borough of Thames and its immediate neighbourhood.—Ministers stated that they thought that the rights of the public must be respected, but as the question was new to them, time will be required to look into the question 6. The necessity for a recreation ground for the inhabitants of the Borough, and the fact tha^ a sum of £1200 had been toted by the Provincial Council of Auck-. land for the purpose of acquiring it.-— Ministers admitted the necessity, and also the fact that £1203 had been Toted to acquire land for the purpose, but as they were not aware how the rote in question had been treated, they promised to look into the question with a View of meeting the wishes of the people of the Thames if possible. 7. School of Mines ,and Government Assayer. —To this subject Ministers promised immediate attention, being entirely in favor of the application. . 8. Straightening; Karaka Creek, for which the Provincial Council of Auckland granted £300—partly as compensation to owners of land required for the purpose ; partly for straightening and confining channel—Ministers would look into the matter.

9. Eoads to Harbours on other coasts, as that to Mercury Bay from Tapu.— Ministers promised assistance to those roads when • plans were submitted to them. .
