Mr Eees addressed his City East con■tituents la3t night, He traced the events of the session. The only important part of his speech was that in which he dealt with the question of his resignation. He said he found private interests and political duties clashed. He must either resign or give up private practice. He was reinovingato another district, and left it to his constituents to say whether he ought to resign. A vote of confidence was passed. The feeling of the meeting was strongly opposed to his resignation.
