Collia Browne was the discoverer of Ghlorodyne; Unit they proscribe it largely, aud mean no other than Dr. Browne's.—See limes, July 12, 1864. The public, therefore, are cautioned against using any other than BE. J. COLLIS BBOWNE'S CHLORODYNE. Rembdiai. Uses and Action. This Invaluable Remedy produces quiet, refreshing sleep, relieves pain, calms tho system, restores the deranged functions, and tlimulates healthy action of the secretions of the body, without creating tiny of those unpleaeuiit results attending the use of opium. Old and young may tutu it at all hours and times when requisite. Thousands of persons testify to its marvellous good effects and wonderful cures, while medical men extol its virtues most extensively, using it in great quantities in the following diseases :— Diueaßts in which it is found eminently useful—Cholera, Dysentery, Diarrhoea, Colics, Coughs, Asthma, Rheumatism, Keuralgia, Whooping Cough, Cramp, Hysteria, &c. EXTRACTS FROM MEDICAL OPINIONS. Tho Right Hon. Harl Rusßell communicated! to the College of Physicians and J. T. Davenport that he had received information to the effect that the only remedy of any service in Cholera was Chlorodyne.—See Lancet, Dec. 31, 1864. From A. Mentgomerj, Esq., late Inspector of Hospitals, Bombay:—" Chlorodyue is a most valuuble remedy in Neuralgia, Asthma, and Dysentery. To it I fairly owe my restoration to health, after 18 months' severe suffering, and when other remedies had failed." Dr. Lowe, Medical Missionary in India, reports (Dec. 1865) that in nearly every cbio of Cholera in which Dr. J. Collis Browne'a Chlwrodyno. was administered the patient recovered. -a Extract from tho General Board of Health, London, us to its efficacy in Cholera:—"So strongly are we convinced of the imnieneo value of this remedy that we cannot too forcibly urgo the necessity of adopting it in all enses." AIYGEK IS LIFE. Although the modern Materia Medina includes many valuable remedi<s for human afflictions, it i» a matter of certainty that in all cases where the animal vitality is failing, Phosphorus is decidedly superior to every other remedy at present known. It will work effects Buch aa nothing else will produce, and it possesses the great advantage of not causing, when its use i* relinquished, the slightest reaction or depression. : Tiio question naturally presents itself, "Why is bo valuable an element to little regarded and so seldom prescribed ? " The only answer which can be given ie :—That a certain difficulty has been found in so preparing it that its action may be kept under perfect control. Hitherto it has been used in almond and olive oils, in sulphuric ether, in rectified alcohol, in chloroform, and in several other substances j but howeter valuable) it bns been found in "nil the hitherto known methods of its preparation, certain irregular results have been experienced, which have led physicians to neglect it for general purposes, end to employ it only in extreme cases, Bnd after every other remedy has failed. But a chemical process has now been discovered, by which its invaluable actioii on the human system may .be realised without any of those drawback* which previous modes of administration have invariably produced. «S3T Caution- — phosphorus is sometimes s«ld in the iormof Pills and Lozenges ; it should be generally known that every form where SOLID PARTICLES of Phosphorus are in combination is dangerous. It ia therefore necessary thut the public should be cautioned against tlio use of any preparation of Phosphorus not perfectly soluble in water. Protected hy JRoyal Letters Patent.
