EUCALYPTI ESSENCE
LET tho Public take notice of a few fads 1 put forward for their information in this intimation. They may bo worth their study, and repay perusal in enlightening tliotu upoa a subject of practical utility. THE HISTORY OF THE ESSENCE'S DISCOVERY. The Australian anti-foyer tree—that is the bluo gum, or eucalyptus globulus —lias now spread its fume throughout tlio world, but Ihero are many who do not. properly oßlimuto its splendid quulilios. It hns been estimated that tho Australian bluo gum*, which stud the face of the colony, contain about five hundred million gallons of pure Tola tile oil, that »b tho mortal foe of fever nnd ague. Every day in tho year ihe forests of the colony are giving out and exhaling, in the form of vapor, »v aromatic fragrance to our breezes, and a health-giving eeeence to our people. Tim fact is now recognised by all the scientistb in the world. ITS CLAIM AS A CURATIVE. It has now bocomo the fashion with tho inveutorß or discoverers of remedial agents to claim something little short of infallibility and universality of euro for their respective agents. Messrs Sander and Sons did nothing of the sort. They have confidence that their essence possesses many virtues ; but tho full extent of these they do not know yet. They uro now collecting data, and they aro most careful and searching in performing this. It is quite sure then, that their eucalypti essence can fairly assert itself to be a grand panacea for many of the ills that flesh is heir to.
In Scarlet, Typhoid, or any cane of Fever, no'.hing will protect better against contagion than n frw drops of the essence poured in the pnlm of the hand, and rubbed in, in order to liberate the vapors, or sprinkled over the clothes. Tho perfume will be noticed for a great length of time. Inwardly vsed, take three or four drops in half a tumbler of water. The essence effects a most surprising change of the whole c onBtitution, correcting iudigestion, and creating a healthy appetite.
For Children Attending Schools, the same mode may be adopted. In Cases of Sickness, a few drops put into a saucer, and put into the room will, being, an etheric essence, evaporate, and fill the room with the purifying vapor. Are you obliged to Travel! A few drops occasionally rubbed on the body, will protect aghinst any contogion you may be exposed to, in coming direct with sick persons, or in sleeping in the some room with, or in beds occupied previously by fiek persona. All KottlJceepers will do well to sprinkle from time to time in drawers, where linen is usually kept, a few drops of the pure essential essence. It produces no spots whatever, as every particle of it evaporates, and nothing remains. In short, icliere a disinfectant is needed, the pure essential ecualypii essence ought to be the one you have recourse to, and no family ought to bo without it. For all Wounds, Cuts, Burns, Scoldings, Ulcers, and, .Cancerous Wounds, a piece of linen wrapped round the Buffering purt, nnd moistened with a few drops of the eucalypti essence, will stop all pain, and effect a speed? euro. In cases where a piece of linen cannot bo applied, the moieteniug of the suffering part, with the pure essence will do as well. , In Case of Colds moisten the nostrils.with, : a few dropß and inhale the vapour, and you will feel the immediate relief, nnd entire riddance of the heat. In all cases where the Lungs mag be Affected, the aboTe-menlioned process, continually repealed, will be the best that can be advised. ■ In cases of JRheumatism, a mixture of one part of tho pure e«st-nlial eucalypti essence with lhre» parts of spirits of wine, well rubbed in the puffdiing part, has acted better than any other remedy. In all cases of Inflammation, the essence may be opplird to tho p»rt tjffdcted. In severe cases of Toothache of rheumatic origin, tin* pure essence may be applied on the external pnrfc of the face. In cases of Inflammation of the Eyes, apply the pure essence to the oiit»idt» of the eyelids. " MeadacTie and Rheumatic Pains in the Head are positively cured and removed by tubbing tho essence ou tho effected parts. . For many Cases of Severe Bruises the essence has proved the beet remedy. i {g^No other essence is genuine except thut in the vials bearing on the labels our signature and trade mark.
