Water Supply Committee.

A special meeting of the Thames Water Supply Committee was held at the Borough Council Chambers at 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoon. There were present —His Worship the Mayor, in the chair, Messrs Price, Thorburn, Hume and Head. .
The Chairman stated that the meeting had been called in consequence of the reception of the following letter :— "Thames, January 10th, 187$. —The Thames Water Supply Committee.—The Bank of New Zealand desire us to apply to you for an immediate settlement of your overdraft at the Bank of New Zealand, amounting to £496 0s lOd. Will you be kind enough to give this your earliest attention, which may save further proceedings being taken and cost incurred. — Yours truly!'Macdonam and. Miller.'' The Chairman said they had no monpy to liquidate the overdraft. Considerable discussion on the matter then ensued, when it was resolved to adjourn till Monday (to-day) and further consider the matter then.
The adjourned meeting was held to-d»y at 3.30, but a pressure on our space pre« rents us giving a report.,
