COUNTY COUNCIL.
In yesterday's issue several of the committee reports were excluded from our report of the Council's monthly meeting in consequence of want of space. The following is a digest of the Finance Com-: mittee's report:—The committee met on the 20th ult., and passed accounts amounting to £150 13s 2d for fencing contracts on Native lands and officers' salaries, and Pumping Association accounts amounting to £707 Os 3d. At a meeting on the Bth it was resolved, to issue summonses for all unpaid rates, and at a meeting on the 16th, accounts amounting to £1093 2s 9d had been passed for payment.
The Board of Works reported the completion of the contract for the deflation line from Mackajtown to Owbaroa, and the cutting of a new track from Hill township to Waitekauri, and stated that the contractors cutting the line of road from Uotokohu to Te Aroha.would finish during the present month. The Hikutaia bridge was completed, and the Omahu bridge would be completed in a month. It also reported the letting of a contract for the construction of a dray road from Hastings to Golden Point, which would erentually be a portion of the road to Mercury Bay. It also briefly noticed the completion and progress of several small works in Farawai, Kauaeranga, and Waiotahi ridings.
