RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT
THIS DAY. (Before W. Fraser, Esq., 8.M.) DBUNEEITKE3S.
Alex. Phillips, on remand, was charged with the abore offence, but ha was again remanded, as he was not yet in a fit state to appear before the court. Frederick Mayo, on remand, was also charged with drunkenness. Defendant pleaded guilty, and was fined 10s, with the usual alternatire. LAKCJKNY. Frederick Mayo was also charged with stealing one bottle of brandy from the premises of John H. O'Halloran. Defendant pleaded not guilty. His brother had paid for the brandy, and he did not steal it. Bemanded till Monday. . ABUBIYB LANGUAGE. Meri Taipari was charged with using abusire language towards one Sarah Powell, on the 4th instant.
Mr Macdonald appeared for defendant, and handed to the Bench a telegram from Mr Fuckey, stating that the defendant was engaged at the Natire Lands Court, and could not possibly get away. : Mr Dodd agreed to adjourn the the case on payment of costs. Adjourned till Saturday, 26th insl. Court adjourned.
