The body of a milkman named S, Smith waa picked up in Ike harbour last night. He is supposed to have committed suicido.
With a view of testing the quality of the liquor sold afc large gatherings, the police purchased samples from the holder of a temporary license at the Caledonian grounds ; the samples will be analysed in order to ascertain whether good or bad liquors are being sold to the public.
Twelve thousand persons visited the Caledonian sports yesterday. Hewitt, the champion runner, injured his leg in the first race, and could not compete in the rest.
