After the deputations had been disposed of the Hon. the Premier accompanied by the County Chairman nnd a number of other gentlemen drove out to Parawai to inspect the Kauaeranga bridge. Sir G. Grey expressed a high opinion of the usefulness of the bridge and the small cost at which it had been erected. The party then drove to W. H. Taipari's residence where a large number of natives had collected, several of whom addressed warm speeches of welcome to the visitors, to which Sir G. Grey responded in suitable terms.
