HARBOR BOARD.

A deputation consisting of the members of the Harbor Board were then ushered in and were introduced to the Premier bj' the Chairman, MrDavios.

Mr Davios said that they desired to thank Sir George Grey for his exertions on their behalf so far. He then spoke on the necessity of the removal of the Tararu wharf, which was at present a cause of some expense- He asked that some special grant be mado for the carrying on of harlior works, as for some time to come the foreshore would not be worth much.

Sir G. Grey promised to see if there was any precedent to go upon to give them a special grant, and would then see what could be done.

The deputation then withdrew.
