A meeting of the directors was held at the office of the company last evening, Mr E. Lowe being in attendance. He re* ported that at present there is about 250 tons on hand and recommended a tempo- - rary cessation of operations until the hopper is finished and the laying down of the tramway, completed, as there is plenty of quartz with which to, start crashing, and besides that tbere is enough standing ready stripped in. the mine to keep the battery going for six months if necessary. The directors determined to act' on the recommendation, and as it is expected the tramway will be completed. within six weeks, the stoppage will not fee of long duration.
