WAITEKAURI.
The following report has been received: —Waitekauri mine, June 25th, 1877.— Directors of the Waitekauri Goldmining and Quartz Crushing Co.—Gentlemen, — I beg to forward the following report:— On the lower level the drive to the nbrtb of No. 2 winze is in 106 feet, and the reef is seven feet in width. The drive to the north is in 62 feet. lam breaking down six feet, which is rubbly stone, showing some good gold. The cross*cut from this drive towards the No. 2 winze is in ten feet on the reef, and has ten feet more to drive to get through it. On the 160 feet ! level the drive to the north of the winze is in 114 feet. lam taking four feet of the footwall or eastern portion of the reef, which is looking well. I have let a contract for driving 50 feet from the Queen boundary at 14s per foot, and the contractors are making good progress. I have been keeping the battery fully employed from all parts of the mine, and the stone has been turning out about an ounce per ton for the last week.—l remain, yours, &c, Chables Wilsojt, Mine .
