Friday. The enquiry into the circumstances attending the death of Mrs Quarrie has been concluded. The evidence of Dr De Latour, who made a post mortem examination, was to the effect that the deceased died from a shock to the system caused by concussion of the brain. The wound on the back of the head was sufficient to cause death. It is believed the wound was made by a blunt instrument. The jury, after considering the matter almost three hours, returned a verdict of " Manslaughter against Mrs Quarries eldest son JDaniel." The Coroner then committed. Daniel Quarrie to take his trial at the next sitting of the i Supreme Court in Dunedin.
