Mr Macdonald made application on behalf of the bankrupt for his firia'. discharge. He said that the creditors did not oppose it. Discharge granted. KE JAMES NORTON. Mr Brassey made application on behalf of the bankrupt for his final ..discharge, and slated that at the first meeting for the creditors thare was. not a quorum.present. Mr Adams, one of the creditors, aiked if he could ask the bankrupt some questions., .■..V This was opposed by Mr Brassej&sthe creditor had not given 7 days' notice of his intention to oppose. ''■•''■ ' James Norton then deposed on oath that lie had no property, Mr Adams stated that a house had beea mortgaged, but it was a bogus one. His Honor said he would adjourn the enquiry till the next sitting of the Court. . APPLICATION BE MO RNINCK STAB. Mr Macdonald made application for the - dissolution of the Morning. Star G.M.Cq. Application granted, the books and papers of the company to be left with the clerk of the Court for six months. PBICE T. MCDOWILI. This was a claim for £22 lls, goods. Mr Brassey for the plaintiff, and Mr Macdonald for the defendant. Mr Brassey said that the action was to recover the sum claimed for clothes sold and delivered. Several items of the account were admitted by the defendant. Thomas Price, sworn, deposed—l am the plainti&and am a tailor carrying on business in Grahamitown. I made two pairs of white trousers for the defendant and delivered them to him at his hotel. His cook was present. I charged 24s for the trousers. I also made him a white shirt and a suit of tweed. The day I got the order there was a man named Sykes in the shop, and I a»ked him to put down the measure, which he did. (The measure book was here put in evidence).' He was measured on the 6th November, 1875. The suit was made by mycelf without assistance. The trowsers and vest the defendant has on now are part of the suit. The coat was made of dark tweed with a stripe in it. In regard to the book and three, pictures I showed McDowell a book and three pictures that I had and he said he would like some the same. I went and bought them and delivered them to the defendant. I purchased then at his request. I delivered them to him in his cook house. The charges for the other items were fair and reasonable. By Mr Macdonald^l keep no book of accounts except that measuring book. I got the date for making out the account from my memory. I looked at the bcok only for one date. I got the date foe making the suit of clothes, costing £2 9s, from nrerrory. •* . Some more eviderce. of a voluminous character followed, that of Mr and Mrs McDowell being favo 'able to the case for the defendant, and thpl of Mess;s Syke", Halltfay and Mrs WeatherJy for the plaintiff's case. At the conclusion judgment; was given for the plaintiff for £20 3s without cosis.
