CALEDONIAN.
The rise on the Otago or supposed No. 2 reef from the Caledonian No. 1 level, which is being put up to meet the drive at the side of the same lode, is now nearly completed, and it is probable that —the drive being far enough advanced and,the rise up a sufficient' height—the; works will break through in a fortnight or three weeks. The appearance of thfe lode in the rise is promising. When the connection between the drive and *• the winze is made, the manager expects to commence to break, the reef that is stripped. Mclnnes and party, the tributers, will be crushing shortly, probably at Bull's battery. Ord and party have taken up a new section near Tookey's boundary, part of-which formerly comprised Lowe's t ribate section.
