/*- Wednesday. The Waimate Steeplechase Club held their annual meeting to-day at Willow Bridge. The weather w£3. fine, the course in good order, and the attendance large. . Waimate.Steeplechase Cup, 75 soys. —Banjo, 1; Erunette, 2; Tommy Dodd, 3. l^anjo won easily. Will-if-I-can baulked.
Maidek Plate, of 50 soys.-—Brunette, 1; Lonehand, 2; Jack and Will-if-I-can also ran. All fell, but Brunette won easily by several lengths.
Waimate Steeplechase Handicap, of 100 soys, distance three miles.—Banjo, 1; Brunette, 2; Will-if-I-t an, 3. Lottery started, but threw his rider after "going a mile. It was a good race between the three first. All jumped well. Banjo won by four lengths.
Consolation Handicap of 40 sots.— Tommy Dodd, 1; Lonehand, 2; Lottery, 3. Will-if-I-can baulked and then threw his rider at third fence. Tommy Dodd and Lonehand fell, but were quickly remounted.. Tommy Dodd won easily by six lengths.
