WELLINGTON.
Wednesday. The s.s. Zealandia, with London mails of the 3rd of May, left San Francisco for Honolulu and Auckland on May the 23rd, andis due at Auckland on the 15th inst. The City of Sydney, with the New Zealand mails of the 4ta of May, arrived at San Francisco on the 31st ultimo. This day. The Governor has remitted the sentence of two years' penal servitude passed last session on Eichard Gordoi, convicted, of horse stealing vi the Wairarapa. The evidence on which he was Convicted is shown to be unreliable. t In the ease of Hooper v. The Reformer newspaper $ for £75 damages for insufficient notice of dismissal as editor, plaintiff was nonsuited* The case will probably be taken to the Supreme Court.
