Mr Comer informs me that the "band, of clay " is undoubtedly the slide, but it has come in rather unexpectedly. The slide has completely " dislocated " or cut off the reef for the whole height of the drive. The following is a copy of to-day's telegram :—" 60lbs. specimens from drive in new winze. Slide has dislocated reef for whole height of drive. Gold appears going down on clay. No reef broken in viinze. 601bs. specimens from Wallis'and No. 9 stopes.
