The N.Z.S. Company have received advices of the arrival of the ship Rangitikei at London on June Ist. TheJlangitikei had 70 passengers fronrvarious ports in the colony. ; !.
The ball in honour of the Governor's visit promises to be a great success, and also a conversazione, with which an art exhibition at the Museum is to be opened. Nearly 600 invitations have been issued for the latter, and numerous and valuable exhibits are promised for the art exhibition. .
The Professors and lecturers of the Canterbury College have recommended the board of governors to take steps to establish a Boys' High School, as an intermediate school between the Government schools and the College. It will be considered at the next monthly meeting of the beard. *
