MOANATAIRI.
As the men are employed timbering up the winze, no stuff has been taken down in the drive to-day. Heldt's leader has [ much improved of late, and to-day a parcel of 201bs of specimens was obtained from it. Small parcels of golden stones are being taken from the stopes on Wallis' leader. The" sinking of the shaft is completed, and opening out will be commenced next wdek if nothing occurs to prevent it. The mine was visited by a good number of persons this morning, to-day being visiting day, : and they, generally appeared pleased with the show in the drive from the winze. The following is a copy of the telegram sent to Auckland by Mr Comer this morning :-- ---" 201bs specimens from drive on Heldt's reef. No reef broken doan in new winze. Mine generally looking very well.—Uobt. Comeb." At the battery Kneebone and party, Mcßarry and party, and Montgomery and party, company's tributers, have lots going through. There is now very little room for public crushings as the company employs 30 head, and even the company's tributers can hardly be accommodated with stampers, and in fact they very often have to go to the Kuranui or some other adjacent mill.
