Sailed: The Albion Company's ship Oamaru, with C 9 passengers and 2943 bales of wool, 4235 bags of wheat, 10S9 cases| ol meats, 97 cosks of : tallow, 13 bales of leather, 6 cases of sundries, and 46 boxes of gold—valaed at £104,637.
A Volunteer banquet, at which fully 203 were present, was held last night. The war .aspect formed the principal topic of irilerest.; The several speakers urged the necessity of the Government taking immediate steps for the proteclion of the colony. It was suegested that batteries should be erected at the •Sandspit, Sawyer's, and Forbury Heads. The formation: of a fencible corps has been spoken of. "
