The manager informs me that the winze on the No. 5 reef broke, through yesterday into tKe rise put up to meet it. Thii work has been done most expeditiously. The reef in the winze has a highly pro« mising appearance, but nothing much was expected to be uncovered by the sinking, but the manager expects to get something good in the opening out from the winze. It has not been decided whether crushing will take place .next -week pr^ot.as it all" depends upon what stuff will "be obtained from the JNo. 6 reef.
