The meteor referred to in a telegram from Auckland yesterday was seen in Lyttleton, Constable Bulles states that about 1 30 a.m. on Tuesday he saw an immense meteor pass along the sky, appearing to rem-iin stationary in mid heaven several seconds, then pass southward. He reports it of a bluish color and of great brilliancy, illuminating tba whole sky, which was then quite starless. At the meetings re the drainage schin 1 ■ in the suburbs, all endorsed the action 6H the Christchurch meeting, condemning Carrutbers' scheme.
