A meeting of the Municipal Council was held last night to consider tenders for earthworks, &c, pipe supply, and pipe laving. The first was divided into four contracts, for which seven tenders were received, the total cost ranging From £55,350 to £46,174. For pipe supply nine tenders, ranging from £24,646 to £18,810. For pipe laying six tenders, ranging from £2,762 to £1,938. Tender accepted for construction of works, ex*
elusive of pipes and pipe laying, John Henderson, of Wellington ~ amount, £42,415.
