MOANATAIRI.
The following is the weekly report of the manager laid before the directors at their meeting held at Auckland yesterday :—" Moanalairi G.M.C'o., May 12th, 1877.—T0 tho Directors.—Gentlemen, — The new winze sinking on No. 9 reef is down 20 feet. In tho east end the lode is sj.lit by a * horse ' of mullock coming in, and extending towards the west end. The reef is three feet thick, and has the appearance of opening out wider. The mineral is now more broken up, and I disseminated through the stone, besides which there are colors of gold. The last six tons broken has given 2510za of amalgam, or an average of fully 12ozs of gold per ton. The stone in the west drive has improved in appearance. The engine shaft is down 70 feet, and it will take nine more days to complete the required depth of 76 feet. All Nations leader: A winze will be started on this leader on Monday next, to meet the 150 feet level, for ventilation, <fee. In the drive east this reef is very much broken, and is, I think, approaching the slide. There is no change elsewhere to mention. During past fortnight 407 tons have been crushed, yielding 5860zs of retorted gold. The machinery is all in good working order.—H. Comeb, manager."
